We, Mrs Barker's Pet Services, reserve the right to review and amend any of these Terms of Service at our sole discretion. Upon doing so, we will update this page. Any changes to these Terms of Service will take effect immediately from the date of publication.

Pet Services
Consultations
Before any booking commences, a meet and greet is required to ensure the proposed booking is a good fit for both parties. This meeting comes at a small fee of $10, and is typically an appointment in which I will come to your home to meet you and your pets. If you prefer an alternative setting, a public location we are both comfortable with is also welcome. Consultations are conducted during the week and can take 10-30 minutes.
Cancellation Policy
We understand that changes in circumstances may necessitate cancellations or rescheduling on your part. However, due to the scheduling commitments we undertake to accommodate all clients, please be informed that booking deposits cannot be refunded.
Payment
- Bookings made on Public Holidays will incur a 50% surcharge
- For Pet Sitting and Wedding services, a 50% deposit is required to secure your booking
- For House Visits and Dog Day Out services, a 25% deposit is required to secure your booking
- All payments must be settled within 7 days of receiving a request to finalise an invoice. If payments are not made on time, your invoice may be subject to additional fees for late payment, and your booking may be suspended or cancelled.
- Clients who have outstanding invoices with us are barred from booking any services until payment has been made. At our discretion, we may ban these individuals from booking with Mrs Barker's Pet Services permanently.
Pet Sitting Bookings
- For the duration of the sitting service, the client must provide all food required for the pet(s). If we need to top up the pet’s food the client must reimburse us. A receipt will be provided in this case.
- Where the pet requires more attentive care such as medication administration or food prep, an additional fee will be discussed and added to the client’s invoice.
- We will remain at the client’s residence for the whole period booked, however we may need to leave for short periods to go to the shops, or to attend other bookings such as walks and house visits during the day. It is the client’s responsibility to ensure their pets can be safely left at home alone during these periods, or to inform us ahead of time that their pets are not to be left alone at any point - special arrangements will need to be made in this case.
- If the client chooses to return earlier than what has been previously arranged, we will offer the client credit for the remaining cost to use on any service - no refunds will be given.
- On the last day of the booking, our service ends at 12pm. If the client would like us to stay for longer, this will come at an additional cost and should be discussed beforehand.
Security and Entry
- We are not liable for any lost or stolen keys which have been left out for us. If a time to pick up keys prior to your booking cannot be arranged, we recommend leaving them in a lockbox for security.
- We accept no responsibility for any losses to the premises if the home isn’t properly secured during the service period.
- While staying in your home, it is unlawful to record us without our knowledge or consent. We advocate for measures which increase home security, we only require that we are also made aware of them.
Pet Safety
We will always use our best discretion in any incident that may occur, however it is the client’s responsibility to let us know of their pet’s behavioural concerns or triggers. In order for us to confidently carry out our services, it is vital to know any commands or information that can assist with keeping your pet’s experience positive. We are not liable for any self-inflicted wounds that are caused by itching, scratching, biting, gnawing, etc. due to allergies or any other type of pre-existing condition or acts of nature including snake bites, insect bites etc. If your pet fights with other animals, it is entirely the owner's financial responsibility.
Weather Conditions
For the most part, we subscribe to the "rain or shine" motto. However, we will always take the necessary precautions in extreme weather, which in some cases may result in an earlier arrival, later arrival, or cancellation. If a last minute cancellation occurs because of these circumstances, the owner will not be charged.
Public Liability Policy
- We agree to provide all services as contracted with the client in a reliable and trustworthy manner.
- The client is solely responsible for any and all costs associated with any and all emergency visits to a vet plus the additional time taken to do so.
- We shall not be held responsible for pets that bite, suffer an accidental death or escape from faulty fencing or from inside the home due to faulty screens, doors, etc.
- We shall not be held responsible for fines levied by council, police or other authorities pertaining to animal behaviour and regulations.
- We shall not be held responsible for the retrieval of any missing animal.
- We shall not be held responsible for any complications pets may suffer or actions of pets while they are unattended.
- We accept no responsibility for negligence of any kind to home or pets where entry to premises is given to a friend, relative, neighbour or any other party, including but not limited to Real Estate Agents, Cleaners or Tradesmen.
- We accept no responsibility for any property damage or loss caused by an individual given access to the Client’s home or by the pet.
